Visual artist

Andrea Melloni

His practice spans painting, sculpture, installation, video and sound, with projects exploring living forms, materials and perception.

Research

In Cubificio, Melloni creates an artistic institution dedicated to the study of organisms with cuboidal forms. The works bear witness to their existence: collections, environments, images and documents bring fiction, observation and scientific language into relation.

Stem cells project investigates the matrix of cubic life beyond the classification of organisms. Slow eye movements marks an early departure from the creatures and develops an enquiry into perception within a cuboidal grid.
